The Broke Girl’s Guide To Dressing Well

Fashion is a topic we are all very aware of and introduced to everyday. It’s all around us: it’s on the cover of magazines when we’re checking out of the grocery store, it’s on advertisements during our favorite TV shows. Fashion and style affects our favorite celebrities or political figures (gasp! she wore THAT to the award gala?!) and we can all agree that fashion and style, whether we like it or not, is a topic that isn’t going away anytime soon.

Whilst fashion and style has been glamorized as one of the most important topics of our society (there’s currently over 1,010,000,000 google search results for “fashion & style“) there’s rarely any genuine coverage over dressing REALISTICALLY stylish.

Open up the latest issue of In Style magazine. You’ll probably see a spread or an article showing you the latest spring 2015 trends and how to style them. Which is amazing, because you’re totally wanting a new trendy, fashion forward look this Spring.  ….then you glance at the amazing dress they suggest is for the “modern working woman” at a whopping $600.00. That’s enough money to pay your whole month’s rent and buy you a cheeseburger. So your fashion dreams go down the drain because “you’re on a budget” and you’ve reluctantly decided on wearing the dress that’s been in your closest for two seasons.

Instead of staying in fashion ruts and making silly mistakes, this blog is going to cover topics for REAL women who have been discouraged by not knowing where to shop, overwhelmed with fashion trends, and just straight up don’t have the money to spend $200 on a dress. This is real shopping for real women – you may be in school, you’re on a budget, or your dream job ended up only paying $35K a year.

We’re going to explore the in’s and outs of online shopping, when and where to shop, what to buy, and what NOT to buy. Most importantly, we’re going to show you how to style items that we’ve found at great prices, and how to style them in ways that you look trend-forward, stylish and most importantly make you feel great about yourself.
